Named after a Boheiman town called Karlsbad, Carlsbad, CA is a Southern California beachtown which is located 35 miles north of the City of San Diego. It is surrounded by mountains, lagoons and the Pacific Ocean. Although the “village” or Carlsbad dates back more than 100 years, Carlsbad was incorporated July 16, 1952. At the time of incorporation, there were about 7000 residents.
