What’s the hottest item to sell on eBay right now?
FluffyPanda asked:
I’m trying to start an eBay business and I would like some ideas on what to sell. I’m looking towards doing drop shipping. Any ideas on what items are hot? Lingerie, electronics, home decorations, diet pills?

Hi,
The hottest item now is definitely the new Apple 3G iPhone – people are going crazy about it and wreaking chaos! Sellers are listing their e-mails and people are bidding on them just to contact the person and do all the stuff afterwards – the unlocking thing etc….
But the ‘normal’ hottest items right now are:
1) wii
2) iPod
3) xBox 360
4) Coach accessories
5) iPhone
6) PSP
And you can actually regularly check the hottest tendencies yourself, you just have to know where to look for.
I’m giving you a few useful links below for doing it.
Oh yes, and about drop-shipping – the last link contains an article with a very useful advice regarding how to best search drop-ship companies on the Net.
Hope this helps a bit,
Robby

selling the hottest item isn’t always the best idea because there are so many competitors. you will do best if you put something up that no one else has but there is a demand for.
i recommend you read this book before you jump in:

It is quite possible to make a decent income off eBay, but you have to know what you’re doing. There are no quick and easy shortcuts, or everyone would be making a fortune on eBay. But it is easy to get started.
Ebay offers a rather complete Seller’s Tutorial that explains how to get started, what it costs, and the mechanics of using the site. You can find it here:
Determining what to sell is much more complicated than merely listing an item. You need to (1) chose a product that is in demand, (2) know your product extremely well, (3) have a source to purchase that product at a very good price, (4) know the marketplace for your product, (5) know where you can fit into that market, and (6) be able to sell your product at a competitive price on eBay, yet (7) still assure yourself of an adequate profit for your effort.
It’s not easy to get started, as you can see, but if you get all the pieces to fit properly, it can be very lucrative.
